Barry D. Mangel, M.D., F.A.C.C
Chief Cardiology Officer
Barry D. Mangel, M.D., F.A.C.C is a board certified, interventional cardiologist
who was born in Philadelphia, Pa. He studied at Boston University where he
completed a six year BA/MD program with honors. He completed his internship and
residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia in 1991. He
was a cardiac fellow at Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School where he
received training in cardiac intervention.
Dr. Mangel entered private practice in 1994. He is currently on staff at
WellStar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals.
He is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American
Board of Internal Medicine. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. He is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia and the Cobb County Medical Society and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Mangel serves as the Chief Cardiology Officer of the WellStar Health System.
Dr. Mangel enjoys golf, tennis, and scuba diving. He is married and has two
children.
RICK SIEGEL, MHA/MBA
Assistant Vice President
Rick Siegel earned his BA from the University of Florida in 1980. He also received his MHA/MBA from Georgia State University in 1982. Rick has spent more than twenty-five years in Healthcare positions serving in group practice management, hospital administration and consulting. Prior to joining CVM in 2003, he was a principal of Infinity Healthcare Resources, Inc. a medical consulting company located in Marietta, Georgia.
He is a member of MGMA, GMGMA, and the Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery and Cardiology Assembly(CSCA). In addition, he is a member of the University of Florida & Georgia State University Alumni associations. He and his family are strong supporters and fundraisers for the American Heart Association.
Rick, his wife and two children reside in Marietta, Georgia. He is an avid tennis and softball player and a big "Florida Gator" fan. He is also a travel baseball coach at Sandy Plains Baseball Association at Harrison Park. In addition, Rick enjoys international travel, reading and spending time with his family.
Kerry Clark RN, BSN, MS
Director of Operations
Kerry received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Neil Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and Masters of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.
Kerry joined CVM in October, 2007. Previously she served as the Director of Interventional Cardiology at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. In this capacity she was responsible for developing, building and managing the new interventional cardiology program which was established in conjunction with the open heart surgery program at Kennestone in 2004. Before joining the WellStar system, Kerry was Director of the orthopedic and neuroscience program and Stroke Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta and built and served as the Cath Lab Manager for Atlanta Cardiology Group, P.C.
Kerry enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons. She also enjoys travel, gardening, reading and tennis.
Michael K. Mann, CPA, MBA
Director, Finance
Mike earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, from the University of Notre Dame du lac in May of 1984.
In May of 2005, he received a Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University's Cole College of Business.
He worked over sixteen years in public accounting, with the last eleven of those years as the owner of his own CPA firm.
Mike spent over ten years as a volunteer board member and the Treasurer of Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity, Inc.
which provided affordable housing for qualified families in Clayton, Henry and Fayette counties. During the same ten years he served as a volunteer board member and
the Treasurer of Prevention Plus, Inc. a drug and alcohol prevention program for children and teens in Clayton County.
Additionally, Mike was a member of the Rotary Club of Fayetteville for seven years.
Mike began working at Cardiovascular Medicine, PC in February 2001. He is a member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
Mike and his wife Kathleen live in Fayette County. His interests are hockey, baseball and caring for his dogs and birds.
Mike plays baseball for the Georgia Cherokees, members of the Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL).
Stephanie Kallis, PHR, MHRM
Director, Human Resources
Stephanie earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from University of Georgia in 1996. In 2002, she graduated, with honors, earning a Master’s of Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. She also holds the distinct certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR.)
Stephanie began her career working as a volunteer coordinator at Olympic Stadium for all of the track and field events during the 1996 Paralympic Games in Atlanta. After working with brain Injury and spinal cord injury patients at Shepherd Center and Emory University Rehabilitation Hospital, she worked for Sunrise Senior Living and the Assisted Living coordinator in 1997. There she supervised care givers and began an interest in human resources. In 2001, Stephanie became a Human Resources Consultant for McDonald’s, where she supported the human resources function for approximately fifty corporate owned restaurants. In 2004, Stephanie was asked to come back the Sunrise Senior Living in a Senior Director of Human Resources role. While there she supported the human resources function for over eighty independent and assisted living communities for seniors all over the southeast.
Stephanie joined Cardiovascular Medicine, PC in April of 2007. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) and a conference committee member of Society of Human Resources Management, Atlanta Chapter (SHRM Atlanta.)
Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She is an avid singer and loves the theatre, trying new restaurants and traveling; especially to Cyprus to visit her in-laws.
Linny J. Gaspard
Manager, Information Systems
A native to South Louisiana moved to Georgia and graduated from Cobb Christian School of Marietta. Mr. Gaspard joined the United States Air Force where he received certification training in Communications Electronics Engineering and Munitions Maintenance from the Community College of the Air Force. He then returned to Georgia with his wife and daughter and currently serves as Information Systems Manager. He is responsible for all communications in the practice, for both data and voice.
Linny is active in the community where he is a member of the American Legion, of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) association, an active member of the National Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Georgia Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (GHIMSS).
Linny enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter on daily basis, as well as personal hobbies of biking, motorcycle riding, reading the Bible and related books, and traveling.
Gene Ozburn
Business Office Manager
Gene is a native of Jacksonville Florida however he has lived the vast majority of his life in Georgia, primarily in the Augusta and Atlanta areas. He is married and has one grown daughter who also lives in the Atlanta area.
Gene majored in business administration at The Citadel, in Charleston S.C., while on an athletic scholarship where he played on their football team. He also spent six years in the Army during the Vietnam era as a member of the 366th chemical company stationed in Georgia.
Gene has spent more than thirty-five years in the healthcare field serving in physician practice management, hospital business office management and healthcare consulting. Prior to joining WellStar CVM in 2008, he held the positions of Business Office Manager with a number of prestigious healthcare firms like Cardiovascular Group, P.C., Columbia Eastside Medical Center, Atlanta Ear, Nose and Throat, P.C., St. Joseph’s Hospital, Eggleston Children’s Hospital, The Medical Center of Columbus Georgia and Doctors Hospital of Augusta. He also held the position of Senior Installation Director with two companies, Shared Medical Systems and American Medical International, which consulted with hospitals and physicians practices during their selection and installation process of Practice Management and EMR systems. He is a long standing member of MGMA.
Gene and his wife reside in Snellville, Georgia. He is an avid golfer, a certified open water scuba diver along with being a big "Georgia Dawg" fan. He is also enjoys spending time with his wife and her pets, Great Danes and horses.
